Octogenarian SIDNEY EDEN has acted with, directed, or, as a producer, presented such stars as Alan Alda, Ben Gazzara, Martha Raye, Edgar Bergen, Larry Parks, Betty Garrett, Kay Ballard, Hugh O’Brian, Dina Merrill, Tammy Grimes, Liza Minnelli, Barnard Hughes, Ed Binns, Peter Breck, Constance Towers, Craig Stevens, June Squibb, Roland Winters and Dom DeLuise. Eden studied at the Chicago Musical College, declined scholarships to Goodman Theatre and Boston Conservatory, and made his professional debut at the Cleveland Playhouse in 1953. Mentored by José Ferrer, José Quintero, John Cassavettes and Milton Katselas, Eden has appeared on Broadway, in films, major soaps and, on and off-camera, in numerous commercials. TV critic for NBC-Tempo, Eden directed at Goodman Theatre, BAM and the State Theatre of Maine, among others, and created ACTING FOR NON-ACTORS in 1982.
